2006 Arcane Cellars Pinot Noir Reserve Dundee Hills, Willamette Valley

From the volcanic jory soils of the Dundee Hills, this Pinot Noir has aromas of red cherry, dry leaves, smoke and cedar. Fine, intrgrated tannins provide a pleasing structure and a supple, smooth velvety texture to the wine. On the finish, there are lingering flavors of strawberry jam, caramel, vanilla and cloves. A blend of Pommard and Dijon 777 clones.
Food pairings: Game fish such as Salmon, Halibut and Sturgeon,
roasted meats and dishes with wild mushrooms.

In 2007, we began purchasing fruit from Vista Hills Vineyard, an excellent site located in the Dundee Hills between Domaine Serene and Domaine Drouhin. With Jory soils and southwest exposure, the low yielding Dijon vines produce fruit of remarkable character, depth and intensity. We will age this Pinot Noir for 18 months in 40% new French oak and it will be bottled unfined and unfiltered.
We estimate 125 cases produced. Release date: Spring 2009.
